Lavrenti Aghasyan, a painter of distinct merit, born in 1947. His journey in the realm of fine arts unfolds methodically, leaving an indelible impression on the global art stage.
In 1969, Aghasyan secured his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the Art College in Baku, marking the commencement of his artistic expedition. His relocation to Yerevan in 1970 set the tone for further exploration, culminating in the acquisition of a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts in 1975.
The bureaucratic landscape took notice of Aghasyan’s contributions, granting him membership in the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1981. Since 1976, he has dutifully participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions across Yerevan, Moscow, and various former USSR cities.
Aghasyan’s artistic narrative is punctuated by impactful solo exhibitions, with notable showcases in Jyväskylä, Finland (1991), New York, USA (Awards Gallery, 1992), Cleveland, USA (1993), Beirut, Lebanon (Arboyan Center, 1993), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (1997), Beirut, Lebanon (Bourj Al Ghazal, 2000), and Beirut again at the Hamazkayin “Lucy Tutunjian” Art Gallery in 2010.
His creations find residence in esteemed public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art Gallery in Yerevan, Armenia, the National Gallery of Armenia, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow, and the funds of the Ministries of Culture in Armenia and Russia. Privately, Aghasyan’s works adorn collections across the USA, Canada, Finland, Norway, England, Poland, Italy, France, Cyprus, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai UAE, Russia, Armenia, and Lebanon.
